If She Lives is the third book in the Harlow series. It’s perfectly fine to read as a standalone, but why would you? Read in chronological order. This is a series that totally takes over your life! Even read without the others it takes over your life for the time it takes to read it.
Eric Therme knows how to create characters that are so flawed and realistic that you can’t help investing in them. Tess, the main character, has been through so much over the series that you can’t help, hoping things will go her way. Well, don’t hold your breath, because If She Lives is another addictive and suspenseful story. One that has Tess at her wits end finding herself needing to seek out her old enemy to ask for help. Will her actions help? What could go wrong?
I have followed Tess’s journey from the start, so I know exactly what issues she has and what type of woman she is. This particular book had me on edge constantly. The fast-paced story swept me along, and I was right there with her. The suspense and tension were constant. Never fully knowing who was trustworthy made it even more of an intriguing read.
The pages sped by as I read just one more chapter. Before I knew it, I had to leave Tess and everyone behind. Eric Therme’s books always do this to me. I miss the characters when I finish the books. To the point that I reread the previous two on the run-up to this book!
Another fantastic psychological thriller from Eric Therme. One which again deals with serious and sensitive issues very sensitively. I can’t wait for another book from him. I shall wait impatiently for that.
