M.L. Raynor – Echoes Of Home

‘Echoes Of Home’ by M.L. Raynor is a debut novel that is a creepy, atmospheric ghost story that had me jumpy by the time I was done.

M.L. Raynor

Leslie Wills lives in Stoke on Trent the only child out of his siblings to still be at home when his Mum dies. he has no direction in his life and is pretty happy to just drift along. One of his brothers, now a property developer tells him he can live for free in Elphin cottage in the Scottish highlands. Leslie decides to grab the opportunity with both hands and with no further ado, he goes to Scotland. He didn’t envisage the remoteness or its beautiful landscape and secretive people there. Elphin Cottage is even more isolated than he expected and he soon finds out the cottage and the one opposite, Clais cottage, have a history, a dark history and it looks like he is going to become a part of it!

An unlikely friendship develops with Coulls, an old farmer and between them they decide to correct the wrongs made in the enthralling tale told in the present day with such interesting and upsetting historical facts interwoven into the story, we learn of the history of the famines. This all made for an entertaining tale of how past events can make an imprint on the present.
M.L Raynor writing is very evocative, descriptive and he can create an atmosphere! I had goosebumps while reading this!

An absolute corker of a story! Nothing better for me than being creeped out and learning things I didn’t know before at the same time. I hope to see another book in the future by M.L Raynor.

Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and QMP for the copy of the book and my place on the tour.
