‘Death Rains Down’ by Kevin McManus is the first in a new series, a police crime thriller. I have read this authors work before so I knew I was in for a great story before I even started it.

A book that definitely begins as it means to go on and we are thrown into the first murder almost immediately. Logue and his partner Jack McGarry are on the case. A body washes up on the beach and it turns out to be the boyfriend of the first body found AND a suspect in said murder too. This leads the detectives down the road of what were these two involved in? Who wanted them both dead? The case begins to go in shady directions involving prominent businessmen and they start to think there are sinister undertones to this case. How far-reaching is this case?

A great start to a new series. The two detectives are a brilliant duo and I am looking forward to learning more about them. This is a novella sized book that is packed with action and great characters which had me reading it in one session.
