B.C. Harris – Conspiracy Of Cats

‘Conspiracy of Cats’ by B.C. Harris is a murder mystery blended with a supernatural story too. This is another author who was new to me and I had no idea what to expect, but I thought the synopsis did grab my attention.

B.C. Harris

Jos lives with her Aunt, who is quite reclusive and a tad on the odd side. Jos was a witness to her parents being crushed to death which left her an orphan. She receives a telephone call that sends her to Tanzania to find out more about her family and she accepts.

While there, she settles well into the African life even with her naivety and youth. She even gets to a point where she manages to find herself while there. I enjoyed being by her side when this happened too. The fact that I felt that I was by her side is a testament to B.C. Harris and her character development as they are all created with depth and a realism that makes Jos especially a character I was cheering on all the way through.

In Tanzania Jos is at the house her Uncle Peter built before his death. The biggest issue is that he isn’t as dead as everyone thought he was…he was murdered and wants Jos, his niece, to get payback for him on his killer. With the help of a Conspiracy of Cats and a tiny little bit of Maasai magic too, Jos does her best to do exactly that.

B.C. Harris has recreated Africa so well that the sense of place was so vivid and I can almost say as feel like I have visited, even if it’s only through a book! I loved my time with Jos, magic, ghosts and lions too!

Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and B.C Harris for my place on this tour and the copy of the book too.
