Debbie Ioanna – One Book Away

A romance novella by an author whose books I haven’t read before, so didn’t have  a clue what to expect. I found it to be a light read perfect for a cosy afternoon.

She’s just a girl, standing in front of a bookcase, looking for her happily every after…

Charlotte’s love of romantic literature and ‘happily ever after’ is a far cry from reality. Putting her own ambitions to one side and settling with her university sweetheart, it has not been a decade of bliss. Changes need to be made, and quick.

At a book signing for her favourite author, she meets the handsome and chivalrous Ross. He immediately charms her and wants to see her again. Could this be the romantic, happy ending she was looking for?

Debbie brings us her latest romantic comedy where dating and new romances warm our hearts… and give us a little bit of dating fear.

Debbie Ioanna

A novella that may have fewer pages, the story is not all hearts and flowers. It’s a romantic comedy that brings serious, relevant topics to the fore. Debbie Ioanna’s characters are well-rounded, and I loved Charlotte. A woman who is a romantic fiction fan but whose life is an unfulfilled one. She is desperately unhappy with herself, life, and love until she meets Ross. I would think there are an awful lot of women who could relate to her in today’s world.

The dating, well, Debbie Ioanna really depicts it like it really is. We see the torturous journey we know as dating. The exploration of what women really want versus what makes us uncomfortable was interesting, and I found myself having a giggle about some of it.

In conclusion, One Day Away is a book I would easily recommend for anyone who loves a light, heartwarming, and funny book that can easily be devoured in an afternoon. I must try more from Debbie Ioanna as soon as I am able.

Thanks to ZooLoo’s Book Tours and Debbie Ioanna for the gifted book to bring you my review today.
