Carol Wyer is an author who is one of my favourite authors. The ‘DI Kate Young’ series comprises of three books to date. This is the third one. I have read all three, and they are all fine to read as standalones. I prefer to read them in order as I like to really get to know the characters.
I must say that every time Carol Wyer releases a DI Kate Young book, I don’t think she can get any better… until the next one comes out. This story sees Kateand the team investigating a set of murders that are random but very similar but they can’t find anything to link them all. As well as this, Kate is still attempting to gather evidence against a corrupt police officer and connect him to her husband’s death.
Kate is a character who has become a favourite of mine over the series. The fact that she has to attempt to get justice on her own, more or less, really makes me feel for her. Carol Wyer’s characters are always realistic, with flaws that make them so human.
This is another excellently plotted storyline. The skill in which Carol Wyer tells a story keeps the reader gripped in Kate’s world. I really needed to see what would happen and, Oh! The ending! Well, that’s all you are getting on that subject anyway.
A book that ticks every box for me and just cements Carole’s place amongst my favourite authors. I am definitely waiting for the next book and so looking forward to it.
